2. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:
Promoting tourism and revenue generation in tourism has over the years been one of the key concerns of successive governments in Bayelsa state, just as the numerous positive potentials of the industry continue to surface with each passing day. Successive governors during their administrations through their various ministries have had to deal with the various challenges bedeviling the sector by initiating brilliant ideas to excite and entertain the teaming enthusiasts without any sustainability process in sight. Besides community festivals which run from year to year, the government at the state levels have failed to create any particular presentation that would be an avenue for peace building and relaxation, where Bayelsans can thrill their visitors to exciting art and cultural activities.
It is with a view to addressing this daunting challenge and desire to foster peace through tourism that we now package the Izonfest Peace Festival designed to celebrate the Ijaw beauty and hospitality through traditional sporting activities such as;
Street Carnival
Canoe race,
Traditional Wrestling,
Traditional dances,
Traditional Masquerade displays,
Teen fashion,
Games and Art Exhibitions
Storytelling/ Literature
Awards and Gala Night.

The proposed outdoor events which shall attract cash and gift items as prizes and is designed to ensure a sustainable yearly presentation which would eventually be referred to as the Ijaw Peace Festival.
As with every brilliant idea, the organizing NGO (Izonfest Development Foundation) is poised to start small and aim high, therefore we shall limit our features to affordable but breath taking activities within the available budget of each successive year and ensure that participants are given a wonderful time and receive their winnings before the end of the four days program each year.
We therefore seek meaningful partnerships that would donate cash or suitable gift items befitting the would-be winners each year. It is therefore on the basis of the foregoing that we now make this proposal containing the proposed budget for this year's event, with a view to providing your organization with the opportunity to key in as we strive to make this epoch making event a reality this year.
