IZON PEACE FESTIVAL 2018
The management of Izonfest Development Foundation, a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state is pleased to write to you to announce the commencement of preparations for the hosting of this year's IZONFEST TRADITIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL tagged - IZON PEACE FESTIVAL 2018.
The festival is a grand design for a robust celebration of the traditional sports and cultural lifestyle of the Ijaw people by showcasing their unique games and arts as a panacea for peace and tourism development. The festival is a platform for vacation and peace building as we shall convene to play games, compete in traditional sports, enjoy literature and to join the United Nations World Tourism Organization's (UNWTO) "Tourism for positive change campaign" in conjunction with the SDGs. This year we shall be working with students in secondary schools to provide a sustainable platform for capacity building and community development. 
Our presentations include;
Carnival
Canoe race Competitions,
Traditional Wrestling competitions
Draft games competitions
Bilingo games competitons
Storytelling/Literature competitions
Seminars/Workshops 
Arts and Craft Exhibition and lots of other attractive side attractions

DATES - 27th Sept., 2018 - World Tourism Day Carnival/Exhibition - 12pm
               28th September, 2018 - Cultural Sports Games Opening - 12pm
               29th September, 2018 - Workshop, Arts and Crafts Exhibitions - 12pm
               30th September, 2018 - Sports and Games Grand Finale -12pm
                1st October 2018 -Seminar, Awards and Gala Night- 2pm
Some of the selected seminar topics are:
1. Roles of SDGs in Community Development
2. Dangers of Cultism and Drug Abuse in youth development.
3. Models of Youth Empowerment opportunities in the Niger Delta Tourism Sector.
4. Tourism Development as a medium for Community Development, (UNWTO STANDARDS).
5. Indigenization - Language as a medium of cultural preservation.
It is our hope that stakeholders like you and your organization would take advantage of this opportunity and support this initiative by joining our peace campaign in this event towards its successful presentation. It is therefore on the basis of these expectations that we make this appeal for support to you, with a view to seeking your consent to be one of our patrons and partner, as we strive to give the Izon Nation a brand new package of cultural exhibition and festivities.
