Below is the timetable for the 3rd edition of the Izon Peace Festival 2018.
Izonfest Development Initiative is a non-for-profit organization registered with the corporate affairs commission and having its registered office at Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state.
The aims of the organization can be identified by adding two words- Izon and Festival, forming Izon Festival.
The major aim is to provide a platform where ijaw civilization can be celebrated in the area of sports and arts common to izon language speaking people of niger delta area in Nigeria from time immemorial.
The vision is to develop a world class annual festival for the ijaw man and ijaw nation, as a means of preserving the rich cultural heritage through sports and tourism.
The platform is hinged on the need to provide an avenue for culture celebration and positive community development.
The initiative was borne out of the desire to create a structure that can support a world class festival that will promote unity, celebrate peace and embrace our diversity as we gather to educate and entertain one another as Izon people.
The festival will also afford youths the opportunity to be empowered economically and socially.
This year's festival will kick-start on the 27th day of September to 1st October, 2018.
Youths are advise to showcase their artistic designs and wares at the exhibition stand of the festival free.
